A case of pelvic abscess following total laparoscopic hysterectomy during Tocilizumab administration

Tocilizumab (TCZ) is a humanized anti-human IL-6 receptor monoclonal antibody that suppresses the signaling of IL-6, which important for inflammation and immune activation. In Japan, use TCZ treatment rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Castleman's disease, juvenile idiopathic arteritis, Takayasu's arteritis / giant cell etc. has been approved. inhibition leukocyte infiltration into inflamed area. addition, when achieves an effective blood concentration, C-reactive protein (CRP) becomes negative regardless clinical presentation. Inflammatory outcomes such as CRP erythrocyte sedimentation rate may be significantly different from symptoms. We report case pelvic abscess following laparoscopic simple total hysterectomy bilateral salpingectomy during administration, along with review literature.
